IPR – GDF SUEZ operates in a number of merchant markets throughout the world. In Australia, IPR – GDF SUEZ participates in a range of energy related markets associated with its business activities, including:
- Selling electricity generation in the Australian National Electricity Market
- Trading electricity derivative contracts in wholesale and futures markets, primarily to hedge our revenue stream
- Trading gas for use at our generation assets and in the wholesale gas market
- Trading Renewable Energy Certificates, Green Power Rights and emissions related products
- Managing the provision and purchase of ancillary services in the National Electricity Market
