Synergen Peaking units

IPR – GDF SUEZ Australia has acquired the long-term lease of Synergen Power. Synergen is a peaking generator of 396 MW consisting of nine generating units located at four power station sites across South Australia.Synergen Power supplies power into the National Electriciy Market at times of high demand, particularly on days of very high temperatures.Synergen Power also provides ancillary services to the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), generation support for the transmission network and electricity derivatives to market participants as protection against pool price volatility.

The Synergen Power peaking units are situated at Dry Creek, Mintaro, Snuggery and Port Lincoln.
