Consultation Process

The EES process involved consultation with various stakeholders and the public through the exhibition of the Assessment Guidelines, the full EES volumes, and the two EES Panel hearings.At the same time, IPR – GDF SUEZ Hazelwood consulted with government, stakeholders and the public and kept the broader community informed about the project through:

• Information bulletins (newsletters)
• An information hotline (telephone 1300 793 783)
• A website, which included project updates and downloadable copies of the four Information bulletins
• Public information sessions in Morwell and around local communities
• A static display at PowerWorks in Morwell (now closed)
• Media releases, newspaper articles and updates through regional radio and television

Now that the West Field Mine Development project is fully underway, IPR – GDF SUEZ will continue to consult with our stakeholders and general public in respect to local issues, construction milestones and important developments.
