09/05/07 – YINNAR/DRIFFIELD RD & BRIDGE TO RE-OPEN

International Power Hazelwood (IPRH) wishes to advise that the upgrade work on the Morwell River bridge and the resealing works on the Yinnar / Driffield Road will be fully complete by Wednesday 9th May, allowing the road to reopen to all traffic.

The Morwell River bridge works were recently completed however a decision was taken to ensure the bridge reconstruction program and the entire Yinnar / Driffield road upgrade would be completed and reopened at the same time. “We are pleased to reopen the bridge and road simultaneously to road users and hand back ongoing road management to the Latrobe City Council,” the spokesperson said.

“It is certainly good news that the entire length of the resurfaced Yinnar / Driffield road will be reopened ahead of the original mid-May schedule and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the residents and the local communities for their patience and assistance during the bridge and road upgrade work,” the spokesperson said.
