Synergen Peaking Units

Synergen Power was the second electricity generating business in South Australia to gain third party certification to ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standard.

To attain ISO 14001, independent auditors assessed all possible areas of the peaking units’ activities and their impact on the environment, including air and noise emissions, water discharges, visual impact, employee training, operating instructions, environmental policy, environmental management program and management commitment.

Synergen Power is a signatory to the Electricity Supply Association Of Australia’s Code of Environmental Practice.

Synergen Power is committed to supporting and implementing the policies, principles and actions related to sustainable development, social responsibility, community participation, environmental management and resource management detailed in the Code.

Synergen Power’s adherence to the Code is demonstrated by auditing its performance against the principles and reporting on environmental performance with respect to the Code.

The company has also voluntarily signed the Commonwealth Government’s Greenhouse Challenge program.

Synergen Power holds an annual environmental review and information sharing meeting with the EPA and the community.
