Pelican Point seek to work in cooperation with local communities and stakeholders to understand their views on the station’s operations, and to deliver to the community, programs and support which meet their needs and expectations.
A range of community investments and support programs are implemented by Pelican Point including the following examples:
- Encouraging staff to represent the business on various community support committees, such as the Lions Club
- Providing learning opportunities for local students through work experience programs and graduate work placements
- Supporting a broad range of community groups including sport and education with over $500,000 being invested in the local community since commissioning
- Working in partnership with municipal authorities on community initiatives including the Mutton Cove Preservation Project
