Applying for Sponsorship

General Guidelines

It is part of IPR-GDF SUEZ Australia’s culture as a responsible and active member of the community that all assets take part in supporting initiatives and activities in their local area through sponsorship and donation funding.

Timing
Requests for sponsorship and donations may be subject to time restrictions with some assets only accepting requests at certain times during the year. To clarify the timing requirements of the asset relevant to your area please contact them directly. Contact details can be found in the Contact Us section of this website.

Funding Categories
Requests will be accepted for consideration providing they fall within one of the following categories;

1. Health (Sport)
2. Culture
3. Community- Education and Environment
4. Welfare and Social Services

Requests will not be considered for the following activities;

1. Establishment of a business or commercial enterprise
2. Research activities or feasibility studies
3. Production of communication material that will be distributed for profit
4. Groups with a political agenda
5. Advertising in journals or manuals
6. The Company will not support any request that prejudices the Company’s image as
    a quality, professional organisation

Preference
Preference will be given to requests which:

1. Are in the immediate local area relevant to the asset
2. Present a strong benefit to the local community
3. Promote community involvement and good will 
4. Are not for profit

Making a Request
There is some key information which needs to be included when making a request;

1.   Name of the group making the request
2.   Background/history of the group making the request
3.   Name of the event or activity
4.   Justification of the event or activity
5.   Does anyone benefit from the event or activity?
6.   Is there a perceived need for the event or activity?
7.   How will the Company’s funding assist in achieving the purpose of the event
      or activity?
8.   How will the request benefit the local community?
9.   Where will the event/activity be held?
10. Does the event or activity encourage participation from the local community?
11. How will the funds be used? (Please provide a breakdown where possible)
12. Can you provide a quote or other documentation relevant to your request?
13. Public Recognition- Is there an opportunity to provide any publicity for the
     Company and organising group?
14. Contact details of a nominated contact within the group

The Selection Process
The selection and approval process for granting funds may differ from asset to asset. Every effort is made to provide the requestor with a decision in a fast and timely manner. Sometimes there are circumstances which prevent a fast decision, in such instances we ask that the requestor to please be patient as the process will move as fast as possible.
